There are many resources talking about pool safety and if you try to examine them, one thing they fail to talk about is drain cover and the risk they pose to kids and swimmer. Drain suction entrapment is a danger to many people. When we are addressing pool safety Arizona and Nevada, people need to focus on drain covers and the devastating impact they can bring to our kids in swimming pools.
The wrecking power of drain suctions
Incidents of drain suctions are quite horrifying. Many kids have lost lives in a dreadful through suction entrapments. In these incidents, people may have tried to rescue the victim but all in vain. When a body or hair entrapment occur, often, it is difficult to put the victim from the drain. The victim, if they happen to be rescued, they have stayed underwater for longer and have suffered serious brain damage.
Most of the victims succumb to the water and die. The force create by the drain suction is so huge that even if people try pulling the victim, they cannot manage to rescue her or him in time. Parents, caregivers, water watchers, and other people need to learn what to do in case of a drain entrapment.
Many people don’t know the danger posed by drain covers
Most people do not understand that drain covers can be a danger. Children are more vulnerable because first, they are fascinated by the pattern created by suction waves in water. They will tend to play around with the suctioning and this puts them in trouble. You may even see kids rolling their heads exposing their hair to the drain suctions.
We can prevent drowning in pools
If you have built a pool in your backyard, you are aware that there are safety rules and regulations to adhere to. Pool owners play an important role in ensuring safety and so do parents and caregivers. Before you let kids go swimming, determine if they are safe. The horrible incidents of drowning occurring in our pools are very preventable. The major reason why people or kids drown is because there are insufficient safety measures taken by the responsible parties.
As we advocate for pool safety Arizona and Nevada, we need to look at drain suction entrapment and the risks they pose to our kids. Many people do not know what they should do to rescue a victim who is trapped. In fact, most suction entrapments occur silently and onlookers or parents do not realize there is something dangerous happening with the victim.
